Where is Ljubljana Airport? Ljubljana airport is situated some 20 km North of Ljubljana in the direction of Kranj. The international airport code is LJU. Previously known as Brnik Airport, recently it has been renamed to Joze Pucnik Airport, after a contemporary Slovenian statesman. There are cheap flights to Ljubljana from several European cities.

On the left-hand side, there are the Ljubljana Airport check in desks and sales offices of Adria Airlines.
Other airlines with sales offices at Ljubljana airport also include AirFrance, CSA, EasyJet, LOT, JAT airlines and Turkish Airlines.

Ljubljana Airport Shops
In the departure hall, you will find a cafe serving croissants, sandwiches and pizza’s, and offer your last chance for a “gibanica” or Union beer from the tap. There is also a souvenir shop, exchange office, restaurant, self-service restaurant, and a bar.
After check- in there are a couple of Duty Free and Travel Value shops, located in the international zone. The shops offer a selection of alcoholic drinks, local and foreign wines, tobacco products, cosmetics, jewellery, watches and children toys.
Business class passengers are entitled to the business lounge.
There are one or two hotels in the immediate area, however, there are several hotels that can be reached conveniently from the airport using taxi or shuttle service.

How far is Ljubljana airport from the city? About 25 km.
There are around 3200 car parking spaces available at the Brnik Airport for short or long term rental. For the first 15 minutes, parking your car is free of charge. Just look after your parking ticket, otherwise you will be charged the full two-weeks parking fee.
There is an automated machine where you pay your fee. At the drop-off area parking is free for 5 minutes. Free minutes are not available with the new multi-storey car park (PH).
Many local and international car hire agencies have their outlets directly in the airport. The Rent-a-Car hall is situated opposite the arrivals, across the road.
Competing car rental companies like Dollar/Thrifty, Atet Rent a Car, Sixt, L.A. rent, National car rental, Budget car hire, Hertz, ABC rent a car, Europcar, AVIS are represented.

Terminal T1 was extended in July 2007 according to the European requirements for the Schengen-agreement countries. With the official renaming of Aerodrom Ljubljana into Fraport Slovenija in 2017, an expansion into the passenger terminal by 2020 has also been announced.
