How to get to BTC City, Ljubljana

By car
BTC LjubljanaBTC City is located on the outskirts of the city but is less than 5 km from the city centre. It lies by the city bypass, which makes it easy to access from any direction you may come from. If you are going on your own from the city centre, stick to the wide Smartinska road. Travel straight ahead and turn right by the (red coloured) petrol station, just before the road comes to an end. Finding yourself at the city bypass means you have gone just a bit too far.  
If you are coming down the bypass from any side, try not to miss the “BTC” or “Nove Jarse” turn.

Parking spaces are a plus point for BTC City. All are free of charge, whether they are situated outside or in a parking garage and many are electronically supervised. Approximately 100 are intended for disabled users (lowered pavements and adjusted hall entrances also make an appearance). All the streets are properly marked and the roundabouts situated for the better fluctuation of traffic.

By bus
From the city centre (use the bus stop at the end of Copova street - by the Post Office and opposite the Nama shopping center) it is best to take bus number 27. It takes you directly into the heart of the “City”. Numbers 2, 7 and 12 are okay as well, stopping by the petrol station at Smartinska road, less than 100 meters from where you want to be. From there it sure is difficult to miss. 
Taking the bus on a work day is a smart choice, since they run very often (every 5 to 15 minutes), so there is no need for checking timetables. Just take care not to miss the last one back to the city centre, if you are staying there.

Tip: City buses in Ljubljana have no ticket inspectors on their route, since you enter at the drivers door only. Use your Urbana card.

By train
Take the special “BTC train” connecting the main city train station and Atlantis aqua-park located in the middle of BTC. Running three times per day both ways from Monday to Saturday for a very reasonable price, it is certainly worth considering.

Tip: If you decide to visit the water-world, do not throw away your train ticket, since it gives you a 25% discount!
