Want to relax and have some fun after heavy words of history and culture? Feel like swimming? Perhaps bowling, shopping or indoor karting? Go to the city within the city, Small City of Big Shoppings, as BTC City is known as. With 500.000 m2 and growing, it is one of, if not the biggest business, shopping, amusement, recreational and cultural centers in Europe.

Set as a warehouse space to Ljubljana's sales and industry in 1954, BTC has changed its image and function throughout the past 50 years. After being the biggest customs warehouse in former Yugoslavia and the largest land terminal for goods in Europe, BTC started getting a completely new, commercial and a lot more attractive image in the 90s. Soon the company's shares were listed on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange and later on the London, Frankfurt and Munich Stock Exchanges as well and the company's dream was becoming true. The former rural area was transforming into a small city for great shopping, a real BTC City. With constant improvements, stable business growth, constant increase in the number of visitors and clear vision of the future, BTC City has clearly become the place of success and possibilities. Today it houses more than 400 shops, more than 30 restaurants and snack-bars, one of the biggest covered water parks in Europe, multiplex cinema of 12 halls, a modern and technically equipped congress hall, comedy theatre and other cultural, business, sport and entertaining centers. BTC City visit over 18 million people every year.*

You can enjoy the way suits you best. Go to the casino, movies or a theatre; buy yourself anything from diapers to cars; have a cup of coffee, a beer or a business lunch; go bowling, carting or laser shooting; see a 3D movie; buy some fresh fruits and vegetables at an open market; go for a match of tennis, squash or beach-volley; take a swim and have a massage or a sauna at aqua park. With its size and good infrastructure of streets, roundabouts and parking places, don’t panic if you loose sense of direction. Read signs, ask locals or enter the nearest store for info. Getting yourself a map is not a bad idea at all.

How to get to BTC Ljubljana
You would need a car to enjoy shopping in BTC. Regular bus connection serves BTC from Ljubljana city center and there is a special train connecting the central station with BTC shopping. Going on bike would put you in danger of the high traffic roads.

Opening time
BTC City is open every day from 9.00 to 20.00 except Sundays. The time stated goes for shops and shopping centres only. Entertainment and recreational centers are opened longer.
